TUSB319-Q1: -simple USB-C interface

Part Number: TUSB319-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB320

Hi,

We have a rather basic application in which we have a device that we would like to power (5V@1A max) -we want to use a USB-C connector.

It is clear that the TUSB319-Q1 is suitable to implement a charger/DFP type device. Is it also a suitable choice for our apication, to simply negotiate 1A capability from any commercial USB wall wart charger?  Note that we design many products and will likely be implementaing a 15W charger later and using this device for that application, so it would be nice to use this in both applications.

So my questions are:

1.) is the TUSB319-Q1 suitabe to simply negotiate a USB-C 1A source?

2.) Is there a better choice IC recommendation, or method that you would recommend for us to implement a simple USB-C interface to establish a 1A power source?

Thank you!

-Dave
