ESDS314: Layout Example

Part Number: ESDS314

Regarding datasheet "SLVSEG9B –MAY 2018–REVISED SEPTEMBER 2018".

Figure 13 on page 9, Figure 15 on page 11 and "Pin Configuration ESD314".

On Figure 13, differential pair lines connect to pin#1/3, the other pair connect to pin#4/5.

But Figure 15, signal/line IO1 connects to pin#5 and signal/line IO2 connects to pin#1.

Lower side of the figure(the other pair), IO3 to pin#3 and IO4 to pin#4.

Is Figure 15 wrong? It seems different from Figure 13, and Pin name.

Which is the best to use a certain pin with parir for a differential pair signal.

Is there better combination to use two pins? ( pin#1/3, 4/5 or 1/5, 3/4 )

  • Hello Ryukichi,

Either configuration would work. The best pin combination would be the one that enables you to have the best differential signaling layout by maintaining trace symmetry and proximity. The ESDS314 will function the same way regardless of which pin combination is used.
