Ethernet PHY - Capacitor connected to the center tap of network transformer

Hi team

My customer find that the capacitance connected to the transformer's center tap would affect PHY link operation occasionally,

however when they changed the old 100pF to 100nF, no similar link problem occur.

I am wondering if you could give possible reason for this problem and and comments on how to select the capacitance in this case?

Let me know if you have any questions.
