DS90UB940N-Q1: Will the 90UB work together with the 90UH

Part Number: DS90UB940N-Q1

Hello everybody!

At the moment I am working on a project for a customer who wants to use the DS90UH941 and the DS90UH943.

He is not absolute sure if he really wants to use HDCP or not.

We/ I on the other hand would like to start with the DS90UB940 as DeSer. So here my questions:

  1. Can one turn off HDCP on the UH941? And if so, would it then be possible to use the UB940 as DeSer?
  2. Can one turn off HDCP on the UH943? And if so, would it then be possible to use the UB940 as DeSer?
  3. In the UH941 data sheet is written that the IC works fine with UH940. In the data sheet of the UH940 are other serializer mentioned, with wich the DeSer can work but the UH941 is not mentioned. But they will work together ... Correct?
  4. Will the UH943 work together with the UH940?
  5. Is there a better DeSer I can use to work with the UH941 and the UH943 and has FPD-Link III LVDS input and MIPI-CSI2 output?
  6. Is there something like a diagram where one can find a simple overview wich FPD serializer works with wich FPD DeSer?

Thanks a lot!

Juergen

  • Hi Juergen,

so a UH SER and a UB DES work together and a UB SER and a UB DES work together. UH SER to UH DES is the only way to have HDCP. and the HDCP must be setup on both devices.

    1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. Yes the 940 can work with the 941

    4. yes the 943 can work with the 940. the 943 will need to be in backwards compatibility mode.

    5. The 940 or 940N are the only devices that are compatible with the 941 and 943 that outputs CSI

    6. Any 94X SER can work with any 94X or 98X DES. any 94x Des can work with any 94x or 98x DES.
