DS160PR822: Does device support 28Gbps operation?

Part Number: DS160PR822
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS160PR410, DS320PR822

Hello TI Team,

We are interested in using the DS160PR822 for both PCIe 4.0 and GBASE-KR/KR4 Ethernet applications, configurable at boot. For PCIe 4.0 use case, we will utilize the RX detect mechanism offered by the chip. For the Ethernet use case, we will disable the RX detect mechanism per datasheet section 7.3.3. Some questions:

1. Does the DS160PR822 support GBASE-KR/KR4 Ethernet applications? If not, is there a more appropriate part for our application?

2. Can the DS160PR822 support data-rates up to 28Gbps operation (similar to the DS160PR410 which can support data-rates up to 25Gbps)? If not, is there a more appropriate part for our application?

3. In MODE=L2 (I2C slave mode), can each lane-pair have its 2x2 crosspoint be individually controlled, or do all 2x2 crosspoints change together as in PIN mode?

Thanks,

-Mark
