TL16C750E: DTR pin configuration of 485EN of register Alternate Function Register(AFR)

Dear experts,

The 485EN bit of AFR causes DTR output to be high when there is any data in the THR or TSR.

We are trying to replace a pin compatible UART, but the DTR output low when trasmitting data.

Is there any method, such as reserved register setting, to configure the pin action withoud changing the hardware layout?

    Hi Jason,

    Unfortunately not, this is how the device was designed to behave. 

    You may be able to try to disable DTR be forcing it low by writing to MCR bit 0 but I believe the AFR 485EN may take higher priority of the DTR output.
