DS90UB941AS-Q1: Burst mode & Virtual channel about UB941

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Hi,Team,

Allow me ask some questions about 941:

  1. Does 941 support burst mode for DSI HS video mode?
  2. At what situation would be use burst mode?  Any benefits for this mode?
  3. How many Virtual Channels are supported, could it can be more than two?
  4. If I use DSI-0 for two Virtual Channels, could I also use DSI-1 for more Virtual Channels?
  • Hi,

    1. Yes, The https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/snla356 "DS90UB941AS-Q1 DSI Bringup Guide" is a great resource on Burst mode. if in burst mode you will need to attach a external REFCLK to the 941AS.

    2. Burst mode can help to reduce power consumption of the DSI interface.

    3. The 941 supports 4 vitrual channels on the DSI. Please refer to section "8.4.6.4.2.2 Asymmetric Splitting With DSI VC-IDs" in the datasheet.

    4. Yes you can, but the 941AS can only output 2 videos because each FPD-Link III port can only send one video.

    Regards,
