DS90UB953-Q1: How to disable CLKOUT?

Hello team,

my customer wants to disable CLKOUT for ub953.

I only could find information that tied IDX pin to GND.

is there another register to disable it??

Hello Harry,

In the 953, there is no other register to disable the CLK_OUT.

The description you see in the datasheet is the only way.

If you don't mind sharing, why are you trying to find a way to disable CLK_OUT via a register setting?

thanks for quick help.

my customer just concern if CLKOUT could cause EMI.

They question to me how to disable it. but I only could find that it should be tied to GND to disable CLKOUT.

so I want to be sure if any other way to disable it.

Hello Harry,

I see. Yes, CLKOUT can be a concern for EMI so you will have to be careful with the layout and follow the layout guidelines in the datasheet.

There is no other register to disable the CLK_OUT in the 953.

Revisiting this old thread, there is actually a way to disable CLKOUT on 953. If you set 0x06 = 0x20 then the CLKOUT will stop. The DIV_M_VAL does not reset automatically to 1 as stated in the datasheet
