Hello,

This is my issue : I can't get any communication between 2 DP83TC811EVM boards connecting in twisted pair (20cm long on the bench) and 2 SunSet MTT (Ethernet controller / analyzer - datacom tester - Sunrise Telecom) plugged on RJ45 of the 2 boards DP83TC811EVM. See pics in attached.

Is this configuration correct using these 2 boards & Eth analyzers ?

Can you provide me a diagram (app mostly used) with application note ? How to connect these 2 boards together to establish communication with 2 PC plugged on the RJ45? The Goal is to replace the Eth cable with an existing twisted pair on my project, using the 2 DP83TC811EVM boards both side + PC (Eth), Is it Possible ?

Is impedance resistor 100 ohm needed on this 20cm twisted link ?

The 2 DP83TC811EVM boards configuration are under default values from the guide snlu231 with external power. Boards Led 's Power are on, RJ45 led's are on when RJ45 analyzers are plugged. Analyzers does not received anything (zero). RX/TX on analyzers is correct (100Mbps) when the 2 RJ45 links are connected directly each other on a simple Eth switch.

Is there any software configuration to be modify using these boards that way ?

Have you configured the devices as master and slave. Please configure the device and also refer to the EVM guide to start

Hi Screenivasa, I did the test with one board in master an the other in slave mode using the junper on the board(Led_0 & Led_1), same effect (even both in master). Any board can be master or slave ? Is their a specific way ? I use the default config from user guide.Can I send you boards config pictures ?

Hello Fab,

Please configure one board as maser and another board as slave. You will have to reset or power cycle when you do the configuration for testing.

Thx for the detail on the Master/Slave, it does work fine now. I will go further on with the test bench and I probably will ask you more questions later.

I have same question about the other PHY board : DP83TD510EVM (2 boards assembly : DP83TD510E plugged on DP838221), same functional board than DP83TC811EVM but speed is less (10Mbps). I suppose the issue is the same : Master and slave configuration, but on this one the default config is : DP83TD510E in RMII Master Mode, DP83822I in RMII Slave Mode (default from the user guide)

Do I need to change these setting on one board to have then the configuration as :

Board 1 : DP83TD510E in RMII Master Mode, DP83822I in RMII Slave Mode
Board 2 : DP83TD510E in RMII Slave Mode, DP83822I in RMII Master Mode
