DS90UB954-Q1: Can Deser give dual lane MIPI out if Sensor is giving Serializer single lane?

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

We have an image sensor with a single lane CSI-2 MIPI output connected to a DS90UB953 serializer at the remote end of a long cable (2m). This in turn is connected to a DS90UB954 deserializer at the local end of the long cable. For a variety of reasons we would like the Deserializer to output the video over two data lanes rather than one. Effectively I would like to use the SerDes as a 1 to 2 lane converter, in addition to it's regular function of a long distance transport. Is this possible or does the Deser output data lane count have to match the Serializer input data lane count?

Thanks,

Vivek
