TUSB8042A: Loopback mode transformation

Part Number: TUSB8042A

Hi Team,

We are going to do USB 3.0 compliance test.

It is necessary to transfer to loopback mode during receiving test.
Do we have to do any settings When TUSB8042A transfer to loopback mode?
If the signal for the loopback mode transformation is input from the measuring instrument, then does it automatically transfer to loopback mode?

  • Hello Tom,

Yes, the hub should automatically enter loopback mode.  One thing to note is that it is useful to load the XHSETT (XHCI HSETT) tool on the USB host connected to the upstream port of the hub while the downstream ports are being tested, this will prevent the USB host controller driver from trying to reset the USB 3.x ports when they enter loopback mode.
