TFP401 CAD question

Hi,

 

I have a doubt about the thermal pad dimensions. I read the data sheet and it say that dimensons falls within JEDEC MS-026, but i see the picture and it seems that it's a little different .

Can you confirm the thermal pad dimensions?

    Hi Juan, thanks for your question.  JEDEC MS-026D states on the last page, Note 13: "Dimension D2 and E2 show the minimum allowed for the optional exposed heat slug.  The maximum allowed is equal to the package body size (D1 & E1)."  So, there is no maximum size limit.

    For detailed information on the thermal pad, please refer to datasheet pages 19-20.  The thermal pad can be 4.2-5.2mm, and the recommended layout area is 5.2x5.2.
