Hi Expert,

My customer want to connect DS90UB954-Q1EVM via JAE connector/cable.

DS90UB954-Q1EVM have only FAKRA cable connector.

Do you have any recommendation for modifying to JAE connector?

Also, do you have any EVM for JAE connector?

    Hello Muk,

    We do not have an EVM for JAE connectors. In order to interface with this connector type, one option would be to modify the 954 EVM to populate edge mount SMA connectors, and then use an SMA to JAE converter PCB to adapt the connector type:

    From the EVM guide picture you can see that there are landing patterns to bring out the RX0p and RX0n signals (if needed). The RX0p Fakra connector can be de-mounted and replaced with an edge mount SMA. If the JAE cable is differential, then the PCB can also be reworked to populate the N side connector to bring both differential signals out. Of course you would also need to adjust the N side AC cap/terminating resistor population to match differential configuration if needed.
