Background: I am supporting old designs.
Is there a reason that the TL3695 does not appear in your hand selection guides? Are ther plans on discontinuing this part?
It (TL3695P) is on distributor shelves and the Data Sheet states "Interchangeable with National DS3695" , which is a comforting statement for sparing in decades old systems.
Thank you.
Hi Vilis,
This device is not currently planned to be discontinued. We generally recommend newer devices due to the optimizations that have been made for them that benefit both the end-user and TI. Of course though, we still support legacy industries that still depend on existing devices.
That said, if there is interest in changing devices, the newer transceivers such as THVD1550 offer the same pinout and basic functionality.
