DP83TC812S-Q1: RX interface clarification

Part Number: DP83TC812S-Q1

Hi Team,

For the RX interface, there are IBIS models available for a normal mode and a slow mode, for each of the I/O voltages. I was expecting different models for various series resistor values, but there is just the normal mode and the slow mode.

One of the datasheet versions said the default resistance is 58 ohms, but the value can be set from 42 to 99 ohms through an impedance control register.

Could you clarify how does the part actually work? Normal / slow output strength or 42 to 99 ohms resistance?

Best,

David

  • Hello David,

We have not released the official IBIS model yet for 812 on TI.com. So I assume you have an internal draft copy from us. Is that correct? Can you please share the version history of that model and the datasheet with me over email?

We will only have two modes for the IOs. And those are represented by normal mode and slow mode in the IBIS model. Impedance will be same between these two modes and only difference is that slew rate is slower in slow mode. This will get reflected in the final datasheet.
