TUSB1046-DCI: Source Side and TUSB1064 Sink Side

Part Number: TUSB1046-DCI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1064, TPS65987D

Hello TI team,

We are trying to develop a product that will function as a source and UFP on one USB-port and a source and DFP on the USB-other port.

As a top schematic our concept is the following.

We want to feed the Ethernet data to the sink side through TUSB1064 and at the same time feed through DisplayPort data from the sink side (TUSB1064) to the source side (TUSB1046).

We are using GPIO mode to control the TUS1046 and TUSB1064 directly from the TPS65987D.

The schematic that concerns the Display Port part is the following:
schematic

At the moment we have managed to establish USB3.0 data on the sink side (the ethernet to USB works fine and we can connect to the internet), but the DP is not working.

We can see from the debug mode of the TPS65987D that DP mode is entered, and we also see on the monitor that we connect that the DP is recognized, but no signal goes through.

We measured on the PCB and the CTL0 and CTL1 pins are high on both source and sink side, however the HPDin pin remains between 400-700mV. We tried to pull it up externally with a resistor (3kOhm), but this didnt change anything.

Settings used for the TPS65987D are the same as in this app note TPS6598x DisplayPort Alternate Mode (Rev. B) (ti.com)

Do you see any problems with our schematic?

Best regards,

Panos
