We are considering using TUSB217 in UFP (between Type-B port and USB HUB).

According to the data sheet, the BC controller of this part is always enabled.
So is it okay to use it for UFP?

Does it affect the operation of the connected HOST or HUB?

Hi,

I would recommend using TUSB216I on the UFP side.

Let me clarify, for a UFP only application TUSB216I should be used. Since TUSB217A BC 1.2 controller is always enabled it should be used in DFP/DRP applications where the port can be the power provider.
