DS90UB947-Q1: ESD placement and how to deal with unused DIN pins?

Part Number: DS90UB947-Q1

Dear team,

1. If we plan to add TVS at DOUT pins, what placement is better? If between DOUT pin and AC capacitor, close DOUT pin? If between AC capacitor and connector, close connector?

2. We only use D0~D3 input, then how to deal with unused D4~D7?Connecting to GND or floating?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hello Sherry,

The ESD diode will be most effective when it is placed close to the connector (on the connector side of the AC coupling caps), so that it can shunt energy more efficiently away from the device.

For the unused 947 channels, they can be left NC

    Best Regards,

    Casey
