TUSB546-DCI: DP Aux

Part Number: TUSB546-DCI

Hi ,

1. I was wondering since as I knew the Aux differential signal is supposed to be 1Vpk~pk, but for example the AUXn resistance is drastically increasing and till switch-off when decreasing- the voltage below 2.7V . My question is why limit the voltage range in the mux, why don't just let it pass freely?

2. how does the mechanism mentioned above work internally?

  • I cannot share many details here but due to the nature if the AUX-SBU mux the device requires proper bias which should be expected in compliant designs. Typical USB-C DP AUX bus structure will have 100k resistors biasing the bus in between the mux and DP source.
