Hi Team,

I have some questions about ESR protection device,

My customer using Amazing's ESD protection AZC099-04SC.R7G. and I do the comparable table.

but it seems like TI's product cannot compete to Amazing (IEC 61000-4-5).

Does Team has any suggestion on ESD protection device?

Because my customer want to have p2p solution, all I can find is TPD4E1U06 which is the best device in TI.com.

Hi Jason,

TPD4E1U06 is the best P2P part we can currently offer. One thing to keep in mind is that while the AZC099-04SC.R7G has slightly better surge protection (IEC 61000-4-5), the TPD4E1U06 has better capacitance and EFT performance (IEC 61000-4-4). In an HDMI and DisplayPort application, you don't usually have much risk of a surge event. You would mainly need to worry about ESD and EFT. Also, the lower capacitance will greatly improve the signal integrity as well since HDMI and DisplayPort are high speed interfaces.

When we choose the ESD device, the ESD and EFT we should consider the first?

because I am not sure how large the surge current my customer will meet. so I do not understand if I should promote this device to my customer.

based on your point, do you think TI's TPD4E1U06 is more suitable for my customer case?

Do you think TI has the best price than amazing?

Hi Jason,

ESD is usually the top consideration. I would recommend promoting this device to your customer. ESD224 is also a good choice if your customer doesn't need P2P.
