As subject.

I check datasheet, they're P2P, only operation voltage range different.

I would like to know could TCA9617A drop in replace TCA9800 without any BOM change?

The TCA9617A requires pull-up resistors on the B side; the TCA9800 forbids them.

Hi Jim,

TCA9800 and TCA9617A are p2p compatible. TCA9617A VCC is 0.8V to 5.5V. TCA9800 VCC is 0.8V to 3.6V.

TCA9800 only needs pull-up resistors to VCC on the A-side only. B-side does not need pull-up resistors.

TCA9617A will need pull-up resistors on both A and B sides.
