Hi,

Below picture show my customer's requirement. they need redriver or retimer recommendation to support 2m and 7m trasmit distance.

I think TUSB1044 is suitable one. but not sure if this device can support 7m cable. Thanks for your recommendation.

If this for USB 2 or USB 3? USB 2 will be able to support the distances. USB 3 is not designed to support 7m cables.

Hi,

USB 3, by spec, can only reach up to 3m. You will need a USB 3 Hub like TUSB8042A (Gen 1 only) that can support 3m passive cable. However instead of using passive cable, you will need active cable with custom cable assembly to support 7m portion. You can use TUSB1002A and TUSB216I here. TUSB216I has been shown to support 10m custom cable when used on both sides. TUSB1002A (also used on both sides) can support up to 15 dB of loss, custom cable loss will impact the length supported.
