TCAN1043A-Q1: current consumption - dominant to sleep mode transition

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1

hi,

The dominant mode current consumption is 70mA.

Supply current silent and go to sleep mode is 2.5mA.

When dominant to go to sleep mode transition, is there 72.5mA peak current (70 +2.5mA) ? or just drop from 70mA to 2.5mA?

Ito

  • Hi Ito-san,

Switching from normal mode driving dominant to a lower-power mode, there will not be a current spike. These currents are measured independently in their respective modes. They are not additive.

Note that a mode change while the driver is in a dominant state is unlikely. The driver should be in an idle state (recessive) before a mode change occurs to avoid interrupting active communication.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
