DS3695A: ESD performance

Part Number: DS3695A

Hi Experts,

The datasheet says that this device has "built-in ESD protection".

But there is no spec about ESD. Could you provide us any ESD spec for this device?

Regards,

Uchikoshi

  • Uchikoshi-san,

This is likely just referring to the bare minimum ESD structures built into the design for handling of the devices when they are not in ESD safe packaging. Since this is a fairly old design (almost 20 years) there is no other integrated ESD protection. I will have to check some quality data to see if it contains any HBM or CDM specification in it.

  • Hi Eric,

Sorry to pushing you. Are there any update?

    Regards,

    Uchikoshi

  • Uchikoshi-san,

No worries, I understand the need for the information. I've sent a message to our quality team to see if they can find anything.

  • Uchikoshi-san,

I worked with the quality team and because this is an older device, we weren't able to find any information on the ESD protection. Again though, my assumption is this is just referencing the bare minimum ESD structures to protect the device for handling. In an application, I would recommend placing external ESD protection components on any signal that has the potential for high-voltage transients.

What is the application for this?
