THVD1552: Pull-Up Resistor on Receiver Data Output?

Part Number: THVD1552

Hi,

in the datasheet of the THVD1552 is a pull-up resistor to VCC on the receiver data output connected. I'm wondering if this is correct or should this pull-up connectod to the the low-active receiver enable pin?

Thanks for clarification.

Best regards

Dimitri

  • Hi Dimitri,

Both of these are acceptable, but not necessary. In the context of this figure, I agree that a bias on the receiver enable line makes more sense. However, a bias on the R signal line is also useful in the case that the receiver is disabled and the R pin goes high-Z. Inclusion or exclusion of any of these bias resistors will be to the discretion of the system designer and the necessity of default input/output states of these signal lines when they may be undriven.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
