DS90UB941AS-Q1: FREQ_HIGH Register (Address = 0x5E)

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Hello,

What function is the FREQ_HIGH Register (0x5E) for? My customer is wondering if improper setting here can cause an issue.

Thank you.

Oguri (TIJ automotive FAE)

  • Hi Oguri,

This value determines the maximum allowable DSI frequency. If this is set below your DSI clock frequency this can cause an issue, yes.

  • Hi Ben,

    Thank you for the feedback.

So, how does the device react to a clock input higher than the  maximum? Is the default setting of 2Ch (44MHz) high enough for the device not to react to a frequency within the device capability?

    Regards,

    Oguri

  • Hi Oguri,

Sorry, let me correct what I said before with a better description of these thresholds:

Two programmable thresholds are set to determine the operating range of the DSI clock.  If the frequency is above the high threshold, the freq_high output is asserted.   If the frequency is below the low threshold, the freq_low output is asserted.

In other words, the default setting should be okay to use.

    Regards,

    Ben
