    Hi Marc,

    Looks like this part was never qualified for any ESD protection standards, or else it would be listed in the datasheet. Given that this is quite an old part (1998), this doesn't surprise me. 

    If you are concerned about ESD requirements, I would recommend external ESD protection circuitry for the device. 

    This device is fully protected against battery short circuits and specific electrical transients that can occur on the bus lines. 

    It also features thermal shutdown circuitry that disables the output drivers when the device dissipates too much power.
