Optical modules must be purchased separately in order to be used with the card. Do you have people I can contact about TOSA and ROSA modules?

Please refer to the ONET1130EC-EVM user guide designators P3 and P4. These are supplied by a 3rd party - please note table 2 items 37 & 38. Here is a link to this document:

Hello,

I couldnt reach the firm's web page DNI, I think the firm website is removed, thats why ı asked you any oher alternatives for XMD compliant ROSA and TOSA modules,

Greetings,

It is possible these ROSA and TOSA may not be available at this time. These parts were used to evaluate ONET1130EC optical eye diagram and receiver. You can use any other 10Gbe ROSA and TOSA. You may need to fine tune passive components to optimize eye diagrams and receiver eye mask.

Hi Subasi,

These ROSA and TOSA could work. Please note you may need to optimize RCLs to optimize optical eye openings.

Typically FPGA with 10Gbps interface is used. Please check with your FPGA vendor contact.

Hi Nasser again,

in the ONET 1130EVM datasheet it says"Connect a differential data input signal source to the SMA connectors TXINP/TXINN through 50-Ω matched impedance cables. Set the data rate between 9.8 Gbps and 11.7 Gbps. Set the amplitude between 100mVp-p differential and 1000mVp-p differential."

What is the problem in testing the card below the freqs 9.8 Gbps? For example 1gbps maybe below?

Another question,

In the ONET 1130ec datasheet pin functions table says that

NUMBER NAME Type

TXOUT– 12 CML-out

TXOUT+ 13 CML-out

TXIN+ 4 Analog-in

TXIN– 5 Analog-in

TXIN+,TXIN- are data paths , Isnt it CML compatible?

1). At below 9.8Gbps, CDR is not characterized to lock.

2). TXIN+/- must be AC coupled. Typically CML are referenced to a supply and can be DC coupled. For ONET1130EC we must AC couple.

Is i possible to disable CDR and use for just test purposes?

I have 250mhz Arbitarary Waveform Generator, and would like to to see modulator output just for now ..

Hi,

1). Yes you can bypass the CDR. Please note data sheet bit TX_CDRBP for details.

2). 250MHz is equivalent to 500Mbps. Please note data sheet where minimum data rate for CDR bypass is 1Gbps. Also, typically regular data patterns such as PRBS10 are used for ONET1130EC applications.
