DS90UB949-Q1: flicker fault

Part Number: DS90UB949-Q1

Dear team,

My customer feedbacks that there are 2pcs 949 flickering in their cluster MPed project. And they also did the ABA test, and the fault follows our 949. While our CQE team feedbacks that the unit pass ATE and bench in Santa Clara before. Below is the register dumped. The first is fault chip, and the second is good one.

The register comparison is as below. It seems that the main reason is these 2pcs 949 can't detect valid clock at HDMI input. I don't think the HDMI input has problems, otherwise all 949 can't detect the clock. Could you please give more debug ideas?

  • Hi Sherry,

Let me review and investigate this. I need to create some analysis slides, and I will get back with you by Monday.

  • Hi Aaron,

    Thanks for your reply!

These two days they also report another fault chip for the same project. The fault phenomenon is black screen when powers up. ABA follows our chip while ATE and Bench test is ok. The NG register and OK register are as below. In addition, their initial register configuration is as below. Compared with last flicker issue, the register dumped is a little different, but they all change dual mode to single mode with unknown reason.

  • HI Sherry,

Thank you for providing additional. I will add into the fishbone slides, and share with you.

  • Hi Sherry,

What is the deserializer connect to 949? By chance, do you have any deserializer register dump as well?
