TUSB1002: How can I know if the TUSB1002 eq\gain setting is ok for system when the TUSB1002 is between 2 hub in board?

Hi,

Due to the board is large and there is 2 cascaded hub in system, my customer put a TUSB1002 close to up port hub.

Can I know if there is any way to check the TUSB1002 eq\gain setting is good enough?

Do we have data for the eq\gain deviation of TUSB1002?

Frank:

you need to estimate the channel loss between the hub like trace length and cable length, then you an decide where to place TUSB1002.

Any way to measure\ check and make sure the signal is ok?

If you can measure USB3 compliance test, that's the quickest way to know if signal is ok or not.

Also the CPU PCH spec will tell you how long the max trace can be.

Brian,

The redriver is put between 2 hub and connected with a long fpc cable , there is no standard connector. Can I do jump wire and measure it?

Do you have standard procedure to do that in case the jump wire miss up something for high speed measurement?

Frank:

you can't test with jump wire, you need to find out the loss of the FPC cable and connector from vendor. This is normally what we do .
