TPS25750: USB_P & USB_N lines CONNECTION ISSUE

Part Number: TPS25750
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01,

I am basing a design for a power subsystem on the schematic of USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01. In our new design the USB-C connector can be used to power the system & charge the batteries, OR to have a USB device e.g. memory stick plugged in, in which case the USB data lines need to be forwarded on to a host X86 platform's USB socket, Yes these lines are connected to the TPS25750 chip pins 26 & 27.  Wiring an extension  cable to the host platform will effectively have two lots of termination on the lines as well as a stub, which seems fundamentally wrong. Have I missed something blindingly obvious here? If I don't connect the lines to the TPS25750, will we still be able to charge the battery at full power and draw 5A from a 20V USB-C supply?

Any and all feedback / advice is most welcome.

Thanks in anticipation,

Laurence
