TPS65988: Configuration of TPS65987 vs TPS65988

Part Number: TPS65988

Hi USB team,

We have a customer who used the TPS65987EVM, and was able to configure it and confirm it would work as needed.  Now they've decided to use the TPS65988.  Is the configuration of the TPS65988 the same, just doubled, or would you recommend they test with the TPS65988EVM first?

    Hi Darren,

    It would depend on the customer's configurations and what they wanted the other port to support.

    If they would like the ports to be identical, then yes the configurations could be the same for both ports. They would just have to be careful if setting both for Sinking power cases. If they would like to perform more thorough testing of having 2 ports in the system then yes it would help to first test both configurations on the TPS65988EVM. Also, they should be using the DH ROM version of the device for most applications.
