TPD1E01B04: HDMI2.1

Hi Sir,

For high speed interfaces, my customer needs the parameter of the typical transmission line pulsing voltage under 5.5V.

May I know there have below characteristic curves for TPD1E01B04 and TPD4E02B04?

Can you specify what TLP current your customer considers typical?

Hi Sir,

My customer needs the TLP current near 0A when the TLP voltage is under 5.5V.

They considers the Ipp(IEC 61000-4-5 Current(tp- 8/20μs)) parameter need 6~10A.

If there have suitable devices, please advise it.

What HDMI pins is your customer focusing on? The TPD1E01B04 and TPD4E02B04 diodes are best suited for the TMDS pins due to their low capacitance. A diode with a higher IEC 61000-4-5 rating would usually be placed on low speed, non-TMDS pins. These pins are more susceptible to IEC 61000-4-5 surges than the TMDS pins due to their proximity to the power rail. Please refer to the image below from our HDMI ESD app brief:

If this is the case, I would suggest using TPD1E10B06 on the non-TMDS pins. It has a 6 A IEC 61000-4-5 rating which will satisfy your customer's need. For more robustness, they could use a TVS0500 flat-clamp device on the 5 V power line which has 43 A of protection.

Can you confirm if these are the pins the customer is focusing on?

My customer shared they used ESD devices LITEON/ L15ESDL5V0NA-4 and BOURNS/ CDDFN10-3324P on the TMDS interface for your reference.
