SN65DSI84-Q1: Do we have MIPI-DSI convert to RGB IC

Part Number: SN65DSI84-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DSI83

Hi team

I have 2 questions about the bridge IC:

1. Do we have such MIPI-DSI to RGB IC?

2. Do we have the SN65DSI84-Q1 input jitter spec and the signal test guidance for such bridge IC? Since we have know there are some guidelines for serdes, I would like also to know if we have a spec/guideline for bridge IC jitter/signal test standard, thank you

  • Hi,

Are they looking for MIPI DSI-1 or DSI-2 to RGB solution? For MIPI DSI-1 to RGB, you can use SN65DSI83/84/85 and the SN65LVDS82. Unfortunately we do not have a MIPI DSI-2 to RGB solution.

    Thanks

    David

  • Hi David,

Thanks for your recommendation. My customer is focusing on the automotive level, so the range of the recommended devices are from automotive rating sorry for not clarifying this. I just check the SN65DSI83Q1/84Q1/85Q1 but only find them are all MIPI DSI to LVDS rather than RGB? I saw your recommendation that, SN65DSI83/84/85 are all MIPI DSI to LVDS, why do you say they are MIPI DSI-1 to RGB solution? Does LVDS and RGB mean the same?? I am confused about it, thank you.

  • Hi,

The 83/84/85 are MIPI DSI to LVDS, and then you need the SN65LVDS82 to convert from LVDS to RGB.

The SN65LVDS82 is not auto-qualified, please check with the FPD_LINK team to see if they have a auto-qualified LVDS to RGB solution in their product portfolio.

    Thanks

    David

  • Hi David,

Thanks and it is all clear, sure I will double check with the FPDLINK team. What about the second question?

    2. Do we have the SN65DSI84-Q1 input jitter spec and the signal test guidance for such bridge IC? Since we have know there are some guidelines for serdes, I would like also to know if we have a spec/guideline for bridge IC jitter/signal test standard, thank you
  • Hi,

REFCLK jitter requirement is in the datasheet

There is no specific test specification for LVDS outing signals. You can test the signals and make sure the output signal electrical characteristics are meeting the corresponding RX requirement.

    Thanks

    David
