TCA9617A: Power Down

Part Number: TCA9617A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9803

HI Team,

My customer is using TCA9617A as a redriver of the I2C in a Smart Locker project. Since the Iq of the VccB is high, so they want to power down the device. But the VccB is always there, they can not power down it. But they found if they power down the VccA, and pull down I2C SDA/SCK pin on A side, the current on VccB is low. So they are asking:

1. If they can power down the device as turn off VccA, and hold SDA SCK of A side low, and leave VccB as the regular supply voltage?

2. Any time sequence required?

Best Regards,

Peter Wei

  • The TCA9617A does not allow powering down VccB first. (See section 10 of the datasheet.)

What voltage and speed are you using? Other buffers like the TCA9803 would use less power, and do not have the VccA<=VccB restriction.
