We want to check Jacinto 6 entry + 949+ 2*928 could support 1 HDMI port sending out 2 different types of displays(different resolution). Could the system first combine 2 video streams and then split?

Hello Zhao,
Unfortunately you can't do that with the UB949. You need to use our DSI Serializer which can splitt to two different resolutions. The 949 splits the Video data between two FPD-Link III lanes on a pixel basis. One pixel is sent on one lane, the next pixel is sent on the second lane, and so on.
For more details please see this Thread!
Yes this is correct in case you have a super frame generated on the SoC. Then the 949 will send the ODD pixels into one DES, and the EVEN pixels into the other DES.
Hi Hamzeh,
I am also interested in this question that, compared to 941AS, could the function below be realized with one 949 to two 928? I think it is different with your description because 949 split the picture with pixel rather than like left/right below, so I would like to know whether the following function could be realized by one 949 with each port connected to a 928, or we could realize the solution with one 949 and 2 928 if the super frame format is odd/even pixel format, thank you.
Hello Zirui,
No, this mode (Right - Left) is not supported, but alternate pixel mode is only supported. see below.
Hi Hamzeh,
Sure, you mean 949 could only support alternate pixel format right? Should we connect one display with 2 928 for this application scenario to show the high resolution picture?
Hello Zirui,
for supporting higher resolution you need to use the 949 with the 940 or 948. You can't use two single DES to be connected with one display.
but if you want to use two exact same resolution and content, or exact same resolution with different content, you need to use two DES such as 926 or 928.
Hi Hamzeh,
Nice to see the detailed picture. So my question is when we use 949 + 2*928 and want to use 2 exact same resolution with different content, the picture format of alternate pixel format method should be handled by SoC?
