Hi Team,

Customer is asking about Driver dominant time out - Data rates down to 10 kbps spec, how is it determined? through Dominant timeout spec?

Customer would like to know detail.

    Hi Andrew,

    This is determined based on the maximum number of consecutive dominant bits possible in a CAN signal: 5 dominant bits followed by and error frame (6 dominant bits). The minimum data rate is then determined based on these eleven bits taking up the entire DTO time. Min rate = 11bits / 1.2ms ~= 10kbps. There's a short note in the datasheet describing this estimation as well in Section 9.3.1.
