THVD1500: Internal Pull ups at RE pin

Part Number: THVD1500

Hi,

To what voltage is RE pin pulled up to?

This pin is connected to our microcontroller GPIO powered using 3.3V. Would this cause 5V to be applied to the controller pin?

Shall we have an external pull up on the pin to 3.3V

  • The /RE pin has an internal 2 MΩ pull-up to VCC.

When you connect it a 3.3 V GPIO, a current of about 0.5 µA will flow into the 3.3 V supply. This is harmless if that supply can sink the current. But in the unlikely case that the power consumption of all devices on the 3.3 V supply is less than 0.5 µA, the supply can float up and damage devices connected to it. To guarantee a power consumption of at least 0.5 µA, add a 4.7 MΩ resistor between the 3.3 V supply and GND.
