DP83867IR: The layout distance between DP83867 and transformer

Hi Experts,

Because of the space concerns, my customer would like to know the layout rule of the DP83867.

May I know is there any distance limit between DP83867 and transformer? Kindly refer to the below picture.

Is there any layout guide book for the this case?

Thank you for the Query.

The recommendation would be to use trace length > 2.5 cms and optimize the trace length to < 10 cms.

Please note that the traces are required to be as 100 Ω differential signals, matching the lengths and following the design guidelines.

We do not have the trace length rule in the document. You could use the document as a reference when working on ethernet PHY based design.

The spacing is the distance between the PHY and the magnetics.

The trace length means length of the connection between PHY and transformer - this can be longer than the spacing.
