TUSB9261: discrete components around TUSB9261

Part Number: TUSB9261

Hi Team,

My customer is designing their board with TUSB9261 now and I got some questions about some discrete parts around TUSB9261.
Could you help me to answer their questions following?

1. Regarding "2.8 USB VBUS" in TUSB9261 Implementation Guide(SLLA315E), it says that 5V should be divided by 90.9K and 10k ohm register with 1% accuracy. They want to use 91kohm resister instead of  90.9K one but Is it acceptable for the device?
2. Could you tell me how they deal with USB3.0 pins if they don't plan to use the high speed pins? They plan to use only USB2.0 lines.

Regards,

Takashi On

  • Hi,

1.This is acceptable as long as 1%-5% resistors are used.

    2. The UB 3.0 pin can be left fully disconnected.

  • Hi Malik-san,

Thanks for your prompt response on this. I understood that.

Sorry, I got additional two question regarding the schematic design as below. Could you help me to answer the questions?

    1. Could you tell me how to deal with PWM0,PWM1 pins when it's not used?

    2. In the implementation guide “slla315e.pdf”, GPIO10 is used as SATA_EN and GPIO11 as fault#. I think the behavior depends on the Firmware settings, but does the Firmware on TI web automatically set the register as above?
If not, let me know which where we need to fix the code on the FW.

  • 1. The can be left disconnected.

    2. Yes the FW on ti.com has GPIO function as listed above.
