DP83848K: 25MHz clock

The product designed by our customer with this IC has a 25MHz crystal oscillator connected between pin27 and pin28. Now the customer wants to use the 25MHz clock source generated by MCU to connect directly to pin28 (x1) in the new design. Is it feasible to omit this crystal oscillator?

Oscillator If an external clock source is used, X1 should be tied to the clock source and X2 should be left floating.
