THVD8000: Changing carrier frequency in runtime, digital potentiometer at F_SET pin, etc

Part Number: THVD8000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THVD8010,

Hello.
I'm about to use THVD8010 or THVD8000 for data and power transmission over 2-wire cable.
Is there any good way to change carrier frequency at runtime?
May be a digital potentiometer (like MCP4552)? Or using DAC?
How do parasitic parameters of the resistor at F_SET pin affects performance?

  • Hi,

In general it's not recommended to adjust the pull down resistance at runtime. The device generates a certain frequency based on the current that the resistor draws. The pin is open drain therefore it might create stability issues by interfering it. Can you elaborate the system and design? Thanks,
