Part Number: TPS65987DDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987DDJ,
Hi Team,
My customer recently used JHL7340 with TPS65987DDJ to make Thunderbolt 3 interface on Q470 platform. The following problems exist in the use of PD chip. Please help to confirm the chip selection and whether there is any special attention to the firmware programming in order to make the PD function normal.
1. The Thunderbolt 3 interface on the motherboard is produced using the brand new TPS65987DDK. After burning the firmware, there is no 5V output on the interface of the connected device, and there is always communication with I2C;
2. Replace the PD chip on the motherboard with TPS65987DDJ (purchased old material), with the same firmware, the Thunderbolt interface functions normally;
3. Using the brand-new TPS65987DDJ material, with the same firmware, there is still no 5V output when the Thunderbolt interface is inserted into the device;
4. Remove the TPS65987DDK used in the test in 1 and solder it to a separate PCIE to Thunderbolt interface daughter card (the relevant circuit is the same as the Thunderbolt interface on the motherboard), and the function is normal.
The attachment is the corresponding TPS65987DDJ firmware, please assist in the analysis, thank you.
