TVP70025I: Support to 24 bit pixel output

Part Number: TVP70025I

Hello TI Team

We have below two Queries regarding this part

1) Our requirement is 24 bit RGB pixel output. The mentioned part no TVP70025I  support 30 bit RGB pixel out , can we ground the 2 LSB bit of each RGB to use only 24 bit RGB pixel output , Please let us know our understanding is correct ?

2) TVP70025I , part is shown no longer support by TI for new design , can you please suggest the alternate part of this ?

Thanks in advance

  • Hello Gagandeep,

I'm not really familiar with this device and how it works but I would guess that you could ignore the 2 LSB bits to get 24 bits instead of 30. That is certainly what I would try first. However I would not recommend grounding output pins. Just leave them floating/NC. I don't believe you will want the output to try and drive voltage into the GND plane.

The datasheet explicitly mentions: Unused outputs can be left unconnected.

    2) TVP70025I , part is shown no longer support by TI for new design , can you please suggest the alternate part of this ?

I do not know of any alternate parts.

    Best Regards,
