Hello Joey,
The FPD-Link Receiver input or output can be left floating when not in use. However, the deserializer need to connect at RIN0 as the FPD-Link must be connected to PORT0 to work. I will verify this in lab to confirm again. Is there a specific reason you would like to use RIN1 instead of RIN0?
Best,
Shu
Hello Shu
Thank you for your reply and your confirm experiment.
Customer use RIN1 because they found the layout router will cross if use RIN0 , if we must use RIN0 in this case, there is no problem that to persuade the customer change to RIN0.
Hi Joey,
I checked further with the team. On the 948, it is possible to program register 0x34 to use PORT1. However, this needs to be set locally on the DES and cannot be done remotely through the SER.
Hope this helps,
Shu
