How to convert i2c sensor data to analog output

Hi, I have never worked with sensors using i2c communication and I wonder if it would be possible to convert the output signal from such sensor to analog 0-10 V without involving a arduino or similar?

I have a logger with 8 analog channels and lots of i2c sensors from an old project that would be nice to connect.

I²C is a digital protocol, and needs at least one I²C master device to talk to the other ones.

Can your logger be programmed as an I²C master?

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately not. The logger is only capable of handling analog in signals.

Do you know if there are any i2c digital to analog converters that can act as a master?

Hi Jorgen,

I am not aware of any DAC that can also be an I2C master. I think putting a small MCU like a MSP430 would be the best bet.

Thanks for your ideas, using a MCU would not work in my case. I wanted to know if there was an easy way to re-use the sensors without the need of a MCU. Use of a MCU would mean a big extra cost considering I have 16 measurement positions and then would need 16 MCUs with all the necessary extra equipment and casings and so on..
