We are using a TL16C550AFN I want to go to a TL16C550CIFN or TL16C550DIPFB. I know the pin outs/packages are different. What I really need to know is are these chips the same at the register level. We have and FPGA that basically controls the UART directly. If the registers change then I need a heads up so I can anticipate the change and make the necessary changes in the logic.
Do you have a pin for pin equivalent???
