DS90UB936-Q1: What happen if remove one serialize of 2 SER input to DES.

Hello team,

When customer use 2 serializer with sync mode like concatenate mode or Round robin, what happen if remove 2nd serializer input while this operation??

My customer question if 936 could work normally with 1st serializer only in those issue happen on 2nd serializer.

And if 936 can work with 1st serializer only, what kind of data would be transmitted to CSI output port of DES??

Yellow period in below picture is also filled with LP11??

Could you pls help answer this to customer??

Hello,

When the deserializer is in any of the synchronous forwarding modes, then both image sensors must be synchronized. If synchronization is lost then the deserializer will wait for them to be synchronized again before forwarding data. In round robin mode if something happens to one of the serializers/sensors it will still forward data as it is received. So in synchronous forwarding if one senor fails then neither will work. In round robin mode if one fails the other can still work.

So for my another question, if remove 2nd SER from DES, what data would be output from DES CSI port instead of data from 2nd SER??

it would be LP11 instead of 2nd SER data??

Hello Harry,

Yes this is correct. The only mode which allows the second cam to continue is best effort round robin
