You can follow the note. And for the selection of value of EQ, you need to refer to TUSB564's datasheet.

Hi Bing,

How to set the EQ with I2C mode, in datasheet there is no reference table could set the EQ value.

Hi Jason,

Yes, the EQ value may not be included in PD's app note, we can just follow TUSB564's setting to send out I2C playload.

For the content of payload, you have to ask TUSB564 apps to get the setting, and then we can help you configure that value in PD's configuration.

Hi Jason,

You need to follow the below writes to the I2C registers. Table 7. TUSB564 Receiver Equalization GPIO Control shows the EQ settings which are the same for I2C mode.

Set register 0x0A bit 4 = "1"
USB EQ: Set registers 0x20 and 0x21
DP EQ: Set registers 0x10 and 0x11

Each nibble controls the EQ values for a specific channel as defined n the datasheet. Valid data in each nibble will range from "0"-"F" in hexadecimal. Specific setting will vary based on channel loss and test/ compliance results.
