TFP410: Trouble with HDMI

Part Number: TFP410

We have a design with the TFP410 chip to output HDMI to an LCD screen. So far we have been unsuccessful in displaying anything on the LCD screen. Attached is a schematic of our design.

Our board receives 3.3V power and control signals from a SAMA5D4 Xplained board running Linux.

I2C communication seems to work since we can read the H_RES and V_RES registers. H_RES and V_RES return reasonable values and change with the resolution. We are not using the DE generator. The clock output on the HDMI also changes with resolution so it appears that the TFP410 is responding to input signals.

We also applied 5V power to the 5V pin on the HDMI connector and that did nothing. Even without 5V power, the hotplug pin on the HDMI connector sits at 4.x V.

Not sure if our problem is with hardware, software, or a mix of both. As far as I can tell, the hardware design should work in theory, but I am not familiar with this chip so I could be wrong.

What should I check next?
